Nandyal is a city situated in the Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh, India. It is located on the banks of River Kundu and surrounded by hills and forests. The city has a long history dating back to the Chola dynasty’s time, Which ruled over South India from 300 BCE to 1279 CE. One of Nandyal’s most famous landmarks is Mahanandi Temple, Dedicated to Lord Shiva. This ancient temple was built during the 7th century and attracts thousands of devotees every year. The temple complex consists of nine shrines surrounding a natural spring called Pushkarini.

Another popular attraction in Nandyal is Sri Yaganti Uma Maheswara Temple, One of only two temples in India dedicated to Lord Shiva and his consort Parvati as a single deity. This unique temple features a huge stone Nandi bull statue that has grown over time due to continuous application of turmeric paste by devotees. Nandyal also boasts several other historic temples such as Sri Jagajjanani Temple and Sri Kaleswara Muktheeshwara Swamy Temple known for their intricate architecture and religious significance.
