Rajahmundry, Also known as Rājahmundry, Is a city located in the state of Andhra Pradesh in southern India. Situated on the banks of the Godavari River, It is considered to be one of the oldest cities in India with a rich cultural heritage and has been ruled by various dynasties over centuries. The name Rājahmundry means the king’s landing place, And it was once an important trading center for spices, Textiles, And diamonds. One of Rajahmundry’s main attractions is its beautiful bridges over the Godavari River.

The Old Godavari Bridge was built during British rule in 1897 and now serves only pedestrian traffic. It offers stunning views of both sides of the river as well as nearby hills. The New Godavari Bridge was constructed in 1974 to accommodate vehicular traffic and connects Rājahmundry with Kovvur. Another popular attraction near Rajahmundry is Papi Hills located about 30 kilometers from the city center on the banks of Godavari River.
