San Pedro is a city located in the province of Laguna, Philippines. It is situated at the southern part of Metro Manila and shares borders with Muntinlupa City to the north, Biñan City to the east, And Santa Rosa City to the south. The city has a population of over 325, 000 people and covers an area of 24.05 square kilometers. Originally known as Sampaloc, San Pedro was renamed in honor of Saint Peter after Spanish friars established a church dedicated to Saint Peter Apostle in 1725.

The city’s economy used to revolve around agriculture with rice being its main crop until industrialization took place during the mid-20th century.
