Souk Ahras is a city in northeastern Algeria, Close to the Tunisian border. It has a rich history and cultural heritage, As well as beautiful natural landscapes. The city is located at an altitude of 700 meters above sea level and covers an area of approximately 2, 000 square kilometers. The history of Souk Ahras dates back to ancient times when it was called Thagaste. Saint Augustine, An important figure in Christian theology and philosophy, Was born here. Throughout history, The city has been inhabited by various civilizations such as Phoenicians, Romans, Vandals, Byzantines and Arabs.
Today Souk Ahras is a bustling commercial center with vibrant markets that sell traditional handicrafts like pottery and embroidery alongside fresh produce.
