Sultan Kudarat is a province situated in the southern part of Mindanao Island, Philippines. It was named after Sultan Muhammad Dipatuan Kudarat – a Muslim ruler who played a crucial role in resisting Spanish colonization during the 17th century. The province consists of one city and 11 municipalities with an area of 5, 298 square kilometers.
