Sumy is a city in northeastern Ukraine, Located on the banks of the Psel River. It serves as the administrative center of Sumy Oblast and has a population of around 270, 000. The city’s history dates back to the 17th century when it was established as a small Cossack settlement. As time passed, It evolved into an important industrial and cultural epicenter in Ukraine.   1. FC Sumy is a football club that was founded in 1958 and is based in Sumy. Since 2016, the team has been playing in the Ukrainian Second League.
  2. BC Budivelnyk Sumy is a basketball club that was established in 2002 and operates out of Sumy. The team has been participating in the Ukrainian Basketball SuperLeague since 2015.
  3. HC Yunist-SumDU is an ice hockey club that was founded at the Sumy State University back in 2007. The team plays its home games at the Ice Palace Arena of SSU.
