Takarazuka is a small city in the Hyogo Prefecture of Japan, Known for its famous all-female musical theater troupe, The Takarazuka Revue. Founded in 1913, This group has gained popularity both domestically and internationally. The Takarazuka Revue consists of five troupes: Flower, Moon, Snow, Star, And Cosmos. Each troupe performs different shows throughout the year in the Takarazuka Grand Theater or other theaters around Japan. These shows are a mix of Western-style musicals and Japanese-style revues with elaborate choreography, Singing, Acting and costumes.

All performers are women ranging from their teens to early thirties who undergo rigorous training before joining a troupe to ensure they can perform seamlessly on stage. This includes dance lessons as well as voice training. They also have to adhere to strict rules such as not being allowed to date while performing with the troupe. The Takarazuka Revue is an important part of Japanese culture empowering women by allowing them successful careers without relying on male co-stars or directors.
