Tân Uyên is a district in the southern part of Bình Dương Province, Vietnam. It covers an area of 150 square kilometers and has a population of approximately 300, 000 people. The district shares borders with three other districts: Bến Cát to the north, Thuận An to the east, And Dầu Tiếng to the south. Tân Uyên is known for its industrial sector which houses various factories and manufacturing plants. Textile production is one of Tân Uyên’s most significant industries with several factories producing cotton, Silk, And wool fabrics.

These factories employ thousands of workers from different parts of Vietnam who come here seeking employment opportunities. Apart from textiles, Tân Uyên also has a thriving woodworking industry with many furniture manufacturers setting up their factories here due to its strategic location near Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC). The district’s proximity to HCMC makes it easy for these companies to transport their products across Vietnam or export them overseas.

In recent years, Tân Uyên has seen significant infrastructure development with new roads being built and existing ones being widened making it easier for people living in neighboring districts or provinces to commute here for work or business purposes.

  2. Trần Hưng Đạo was a famous Vietnamese general from Tân Uyên who successfully fought against Mongol invasions in the 13th century.
  3. Nguyễn Thị Minh Khai was a prominent female revolutionary born in Tân Uyên in 1910 who fought against French colonialism and Japanese occupation in Vietnam.
  4. Lê Văn Thiêm, born in Tân Uyên in 1918, was a mathematician who made significant contributions to differential geometry and topology.
  5. Phạm Văn Đồng served as Prime Minister of North Vietnam from 1955 to 1976 and played an important role during the Vietnam War.
  6. Hoàng Xuân Hãn was a writer and journalist who wrote about social issues during French colonial rule before becoming a member of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
  7. Trương Chính Bình was a poet who wrote about rural life and social justice issues during the early part of the twentieth century.
  8. Nguyễn Cao Kỳ served as Prime Minister of South Vietnam from 1965 to 1967 before being ousted by General Nguyen Van Thieu at the beginning of the Vietnam War.
