Tashkent is the capital city of Uzbekistan, Located in the heart of Central Asia. It is one of the oldest cities in the region and has a rich history dating back over 2, 000 years. The city was once an important stop along the Silk Road trade route that linked China to Europe, And its strategic location made it a coveted prize for many conquerors throughout history. Today, Tashkent is a modern metropolis with a population of over 2 million people.
The city has undergone extensive development in recent years with new buildings and infrastructure projects popping up all around town. Despite this modernization drive, Tashkent still retains much of its old-world charm with traditional bazaars, Ancient mosques and mausoleums. One such example is Chorsu Bazaar which has been operating since medieval times. Here visitors can find everything from fresh produce to handmade crafts and souvenirs. Another notable landmark is Kukeldash Madrasah – an Islamic school built during the reign of Timurid dynasty in 1570s.
