Taytay is a municipality in the province of Rizal, Philippines, Located on the eastern part of Metro Manila. It shares its borders with the municipalities of Cainta, Antipolo, And Angono. Taytay’s textile industry is known for producing high-quality garments that are exported worldwide. The town’s name Taytay originated from the Tagalog word taitai, Which means to spread out or lay flat. The town was named after its vast flatlands that were ideal for farming and grazing animals during pre-colonial times. The Taytay Tiangge or Market Day held every Wednesday and Saturday is one of Taytay’s most popular attractions.

This market offers a wide variety of goods at affordable prices ranging from clothing, Accessories, Home decor to fresh produce making it a go-to destination for both locals and tourists alike. Another must-visit attraction in Taytay is the Angono Petroglyphs located in Binangonan Rizal just a few kilometers away from Taytay. These ancient rock carvings are believed to be over 5, 000 years old depicting human figures and animals such as lizards, Frogs, Crocodiles among others. For nature lovers; there’s also Daranak Falls located in Tanay Rizal which can be reached by taking a short road trip from Taytay.

Daranak Falls offers crystal clear waters perfect for swimming with beautiful surroundings making it an ideal spot for picnics with family or friends. St John The Baptist Church – one of the oldest churches in Rizal built during Spanish colonial times – is another notable attraction worth visiting when in Taytay. Its architecture features Baroque-style designs with intricate details that make it stand out among other churches within Metro Manila area.

Lastly; when visiting Taytay – don’t forget to try their local delicacies such as kakanin (rice cakes), Bibingka (rice cake with salted egg and cheese), And suman (sticky rice wrapped in banana leaves) which are all readily available at the town’s market.
