Temirtaū is a city situated in the Karaganda Region of Kazakhstan, Established in 1945 as a mining town. It has grown to become one of the largest industrial centers in the country with over 170, 000 residents. The city’s coal mine is its most prominent feature and produces millions of tons of coal annually for both domestic and export use. Aside from coal mining, Temirtaū has other industries such as steel production and chemical manufacturing.

Despite being an industrial hub, It also boasts cultural attractions such as Lake Balkhash – one of Kazakhstan’s largest lakes – located just a few hours’ drive away from the city.
