Vantaa is a city situated in southern Finland, Just north of the capital city, Helsinki. It has a population of around 233, 000 people and covers an area of 240 square kilometers. The River Vantaa runs through the city, Which has evidence of human settlements dating back to the Iron Age. During medieval times, Vantaa was an important trade center along trade routes between Russia and Western Europe. Its name comes from the river that runs through it, Which was named after a large fish trap used by early settlers.

Today, Vantaa is known for its excellent transportation connections and is home to Helsinki-Vantaa Airport – one of Finland’s busiest airports. There are also several major highways that pass through or near Vantaa making it easy to travel around southern Finland. The Heureka Science Centre is a popular attraction in Vantaa with interactive exhibits on science and technology for visitors of all ages.
