Winnipeg Jets – The original Winnipeg Jets were a professional ice hockey team that played in the World Hockey Association (WHA) from 1972 to 1979, and then in the National Hockey League (NHL) from 1979 to 1996. The team was relocated to Phoenix, Arizona and became the Coyotes. In 2011, a new NHL team named the Winnipeg Jets was established and began playing at the MTS Centre.
