Xintang is a small town in the Guangdong province of southern China, Located about 30 kilometers east of Guangzhou. The town has a population of around 200, 000 people and is known for its textile industry. Xintang has a long history dating back to the Tang Dynasty and was originally named Xinjiang. Today, Xintang is known as the Jeans Capital of the World, Producing over 300 million pairs of jeans annually. The town faces environmental challenges due to its heavy industrialization.
