Xinyi is a county-level city located in the southeastern part of Jiangsu province, China. It is situated on the banks of the Huai River and borders Anhui province to the south. The city covers an area of 2, 470 square kilometers and has a population of over 1 million people. Xinyi has a rich history that dates back to the Shang Dynasty (1600-1046 BC).
