Abengourou is a city located in the eastern part of Côte d’Ivoire, Also known as Ivory Coast. It is the capital of the Indénié-Djuablin region and has a population of approximately 135, 000 people. The city is situated on the banks of the River Indénié and is surrounded by lush forests and plantations. The name Abengourou comes from Abe N’Guru, Which means the land of wise men in Baoulé, One of the local languages spoken in Côte d’Ivoire. The city has a rich cultural heritage with traditional festivals and ceremonies celebrated throughout the year.

One such festival is called N’Goran that takes place every November involving music, Dance, And traditional costumes. Abengourou is famous for its production of cocoa beans exported worldwide due to its fertile soil and favorable climate conditions.
