Baruta is a municipality situated in the southeastern part of Caracas, Within the state of Miranda, Venezuela. It has a population of approximately 300, 000 residents and covers an area of 86 square kilometers. The history of Baruta dates back to pre-Columbian times when it was inhabited by indigenous peoples such as the Caribs and Arawaks. During colonial times, It was part of the province of Venezuela under Spanish rule. Today, Baruta is renowned for its natural landscapes and cultural heritage sites.
