1. FC Desna Chernihiv – This football club was established in 1960 and currently competes in the Ukrainian Premier League. Its most significant accomplishment was reaching the final of the Ukrainian Cup in 2018.
2. BC Budivelnyk Chernihiv – Founded in 1960, this basketball club played at the highest level of competition during Soviet times. After Ukraine gained independence, Budivelnyk continued to excel and became one of the country’s top teams, winning multiple national championships.
3. HC Sokil Kyiv-Chernihiv – This ice hockey team was based out of Chernihiv from 2005 to 2014 before relocating to Kyiv. During its time in Chernihiv, Sokil won two national championships and regularly participated in European competitions.
