Chernihiv is a beautiful city in northern Ukraine, Situated approximately 150 km from Kyiv. It is renowned for being one of the oldest cities in the country, With a rich history dating back to the 9th century.   3. HC Sokil Kyiv-Chernihiv – This ice hockey team was based out of Chernihiv from 2005 to 2014 before relocating to Kyiv. During its time in Chernihiv, Sokil won two national championships and regularly participated in European competitions.
  4. FC Slavutych Chernihiv – Established after Ukraine gained independence, this football club mostly competed at lower levels within the national league system but still achieved some success by earning promotion to the second tier once and reaching quarterfinals of Ukrainian Cup twice.
  5. VK Cherkasy-Volyn Chernihiv – This volleyball club briefly played under this name before moving to Cherkasy (located in central Ukraine) where it experienced greater accomplishments as VK Cherkasy.
