Navotas is a city located in the northern part of Metro Manila, Philippines. It is a coastal city that sits on the eastern shore of Manila Bay and is bordered by Malabon to the north and Caloocan to the east. The city has a total land area of 10.77 square kilometers and is home to over 250, 000 residents. The name Navotas came from nabutas, Which means breached or pierced through. It was named after its location, Which was once an estuary where water from Malabon River meets Manila Bay.

In 1859, Navotas became an independent municipality under Spanish colonial rule. Navotas’ economy revolves around fishing and trading seafood products such as fish, Shrimp, Crabs, Oysters, And mussels. The city’s fish port complex is one of the largest in Asia and serves as a hub for local fishermen to sell their catch directly to buyers from different parts of the country.
