Gaomi is a county-level city located in the eastern part of Shandong Province, China. It covers an area of around 1, 600 square kilometers and has a population of approximately 1 million people. The city has a history that dates back more than 2, 000 years and has been an important cultural center since ancient times. Confucius was born nearby in Qufu and spent much of his life traveling through this region. As a result, There are many historical sites related to Confucianism in Gaomi including temples dedicated to him.
