Huanren is a city in Liaoning province, China. It is known for its natural beauty, Cultural heritage and historical significance.   1. The Manchurian Incident: Japanese troops stationed in Huanren staged an explosion on the South Manchuria Railway on September 18, 1931, as a pretext for invading northeastern China.
  2. Pu Yi: In 1912, Pu Yi was forced to abdicate as China’s last emperor. Later, he was installed by the Japanese as the puppet emperor of Manchukuo in Huanren.
  3. Zhang Xueliang: During the early 20th century, Zhang Xueliang controlled northeastern China as a warlord. He captured Pu Yi after his escape from Beijing and later became an influential figure in Chinese politics.
  4. The Battle of Huludao: Japanese forces occupied Huanren during World War II until Soviet troops liberated it during August 1945’s Battle of Huludao.
  5. The Great Leap Forward: Mao Zedong’s Great Leap Forward campaign led to widespread famine throughout China in the late 1950s – including in Huanren.
  6. Cultural Revolution: Between 1966-1976, Mao Zedong’s radical political movement resulted in many intellectuals and professionals being persecuted or killed – including those from Huanren.
