Iwo is a bustling city located in Osun State, Nigeria. It is the second-largest city in the state and has a population of approximately 250, 000 people. The city is situated on the eastern edge of the Yoruba-speaking region of Nigeria and lies about 30 miles northeast of Osogbo, The state capital. Iwo has a rich history dating back to pre-colonial times. The town was founded by an Ifa priest named Oluyole who migrated from Ile-Ife, One of the ancient cities in Nigeria.

Over time, Iwo became an important center for trade and commerce due to its strategic location at the crossroads between major trading routes. Today, Iwo is known for its vibrant markets where locals sell everything from fresh produce to handmade crafts. One of the most popular markets in Iwo is Oja Oba market which attracts traders from all over Nigeria and neighboring countries such as Benin Republic and Togo.
