Katowice is a city situated in the southern part of Poland, Within the Silesian Voivodeship. It is a significant industrial and cultural center that has experienced rapid development over recent years. The city covers an area of 164 square kilometers and has a population of approximately 300, 000 people. The history of Katowice dates back to the 16th century when it was just a small village with only a few hundred inhabitants.
