Nanchong is a sprawling city located in the northeastern part of Sichuan Province, China. It is situated on the banks of the Jialing River and has a population of over 7 million people.   1. The Ba-Shu Culture: During the Han dynasty (206 BCE-220 CE), Nanchong was one of the centers for the flourishing Ba-Shu culture known for its unique pottery, bronze artifacts, and burial customs.
  2. Liu Bei: Born in modern-day Hubei province, Liu Bei spent much of his early life in Nanchong and became a warlord and emperor during China’s Three Kingdoms period (220-280 CE).
