Qarchak is a city located in the southern part of Tehran province, Iran. It’s situated on the eastern bank of the Jajrud River and has a population of around 25, 000 people.   6. Maryam Mirzakhani: Maryam Mirzakhani (May 3rd, 1977 – July 14th, 2017) was born in Tehran, Iran. She became the first woman to win the Fields Medal in 2014 for her work on complex geometry. She died on July 14th, 2017 due to breast cancer.
