San Francisco Bay Bombers – Although not based specifically out of San Jose but considered part of its metropolitan area, the Bay Bombers were one of the original roller derby teams from its inception during World War II until its decline by late-1970s/early-1980s after being featured on television for decades as an American pastime sport with both male & female skaters competing together on each side for points while trying to knock each other off track or block opposing players from scoring points through various means such as elbowing or hip-checking them out-of-bounds or into walls/rails/etcetera along sidelines.
