Thingangyun is a township in the eastern part of Yangon, Myanmar with a population of over 300, 000 people. The name Thingangyun means silver water in Burmese, Referring to a small stream running through the area. The township is known for its bustling markets and shops selling fresh produce, Clothes and electronics. Thiri Mingalar Market is one of the most popular markets offering affordable goods and local delicacies such as Mohinga (rice noodle soup) and Shan Noodles. Kyauk Taw Gyi Pagoda houses a massive marble Buddha statue standing at 37 feet tall.

It was built in 2000 and has become one of the most visited sites in Yangon. Thingangyun also has several parks where locals can relax or exercise. Thuwunna Park features an artificial lake surrounded by lush greenery with facilities for sports such as basketball, Tennis, And football.
