Zhaxi is a small town located in the Qinghai province of China. It is situated on the eastern edge of the Tibetan Plateau and is surrounded by snow-capped mountains, Crystal-clear lakes, And lush green forests. The town has a population of around 10, 000 people who are mostly Tibetans. The town is famous for its stunning natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. It is home to several monasteries that date back to the 16th century, Including the Zhaxi Monastery which was built during the Ming Dynasty.

The monastery houses several ancient artifacts and relics that reflect the unique blend of Tibetan Buddhism and Chinese culture. One of the major attractions in Zhaxi is Lake Qinghai which is one of China’s largest saltwater lakes. The lake provides a breathtaking view with its turquoise blue waters surrounded by snow-capped mountains. Visitors can take boat rides or go fishing in this beautiful lake. Another popular attraction in Zhaxi is Kumbum Monastery which was founded by Tsongkhapa’s disciple Jamyang Choge Tashi Pelden in 1577 AD.

The monastery has over 1000 monks who live there permanently, Making it one of Tibet’s most important religious centers. Visitors can also enjoy trekking through nearby forests where they can witness some rare wildlife such as wild yaks, Musk deer, And Tibetan antelopes roaming freely in their natural habitat.   7. Harvest Festival: Celebrated by farmers after their crop harvests are completed around September-October every year with feasts and offerings to gods for good harvests next year.
