Baruta is a municipality situated in the southeastern part of Caracas, Within the state of Miranda, Venezuela. It has a population of approximately 300, 000 residents and covers an area of 86 square kilometers. The history of Baruta dates back to pre-Columbian times when it was inhabited by indigenous peoples such as the Caribs and Arawaks.
