Shashemenē is a city situated in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, And Peoples’ Region of Ethiopia. The city has a population of over 200, 000 people and is located around 250 kilometers south of Addis Ababa. Shashemenē is famous for its cultural heritage and natural beauty. The King Haile Selassie I Memorial Museum is one of the most prominent landmarks in Shashemenē. It was established to honor the former Ethiopian emperor who was born in this region. The museum displays various artifacts related to Haile Selassie’s life and reign as well as exhibits on Ethiopian history and culture.
