Vizianagaram is a city located in the northeastern part of Andhra Pradesh, India. The city has a rich cultural heritage and historical significance, Having been ruled by various dynasties including the Kalinga dynasty, Eastern Ganga dynasty, And later by the British. One of Vizianagaram’s most prominent landmarks is its fort which was built during Maharaja Vijayarama Gajapathi Raju II’s reign in 1713 AD. The fort has unique architecture with massive walls and bastions surrounding it on all sides.

Inside the fort are several temples dedicated to different deities such as Sri Pydithalli Ammavaru Temple, Sri Kanaka Mahalakshmi Temple, And Sri Rama Temple. Aside from historical monuments, Vizianagaram also boasts natural beauty with lush green forests surrounding it on all sides. Araku Valley is one such forest reserve lying about 100 km from Vizianagaram that has breathtaking views with waterfalls cascading down steep cliffs amidst dense forests.
